Welcome to Koza baptist Church Reunion 2011!

Get ready for the Koza Baptist Church Reunion 2011!

Howdy Koza-ites!  I'm Mark Thompson. My wife Sharon and I (plus kids Philip and Kelly) were members of Koza Baptist Church from 1986-1991, and then again in late 1992-1995.    Sharon and I are pleased to serve as your hosts for the upcoming reunion, and we truly hope you can attend!  We have some special things in store, and we know you won't want to miss it!

The Koza Baptist Church Reunion 2011 will be held and the beautiful Fall Creek Falls State Park near Pikeville, Tennessee from 1-3 July 2011.   Sharon and I have visited this park on several occasions, and we have thoroughly enjoyed its majesty!  There is much to do in the park.  Nature trails abound, the falls are magnificent, a nice golf course is available, and it has many other amenities.  There is a general store nearby the inn for necessities, snacks and such.  The restaurant at the inn is very good, and serves three great meals per day buffet style, or you can order off the menu as well.  For more information, you can visit their web site at http://www.tn.gov/environment/parks/FallCreekFalls/.   If you have any questions about the park, the link should serve as your guide, or you can give the park a call using their contact information on their web site.

We have a large conference center reserved for our use for the duration of the event.

We are planning two organized group meals during the reunion.  First will be a private dinner banquet on the first evening (Friday, July 1st) starting at 7pm.  The cost for the banquet will be $15 per person.  Second, we plan a catered picnic lunch at a nice pavilion in the park on our second day (Saturday, July 2nd).   The cost for picnic will be $16 per person.   No need to  send money now.  Please pay during the reunion via cash or check.

We are still working a detailed schedule and agenda for the reunion, but we will certainly finalize it in the coming months and let you know.  However, for general planning purposes, check-in time at the inn is at 3:00pm on Friday July 1st, and check-out is at 11:00am on Sunday, July 3rd.

Ok, if you plan to attend, there are several things you need to do:

1) Make your room reservation!   Fifty (50) rooms at the Fall Creek Falls Inn have been set aside for our group, and you can make your reservations by calling 1-800-250-8610 or (423) 881-5241.  When you make your reservation, please tell them you are with the Koza Baptist Church Reunion Group (group number 4834).   The cost for each room $79.00 plus tax per night, and each room has 2 double beds.   The 50 rooms will remain set aside for our use until May 20th 2011, so please make your reservations before then.  (Side note:  It's best to make your reservations as soon as you know you plan to attend.  That way if we need additional rooms, we'll know as far in advance as possible).   If the 50 rooms currently set aside are not booked by May 20th, the rooms will be released for other guests.  All that said, if you miss the May 20th reservation date and you still want to attend, call the reservation desk anyway.  They still may have rooms available, but I just can't guarantee the $79.00 per night rate.  (Just let me know if you and your party are last minute adds!)

2) Please contact me to let me know you plan to attend and let me know the names of all those in your party.

3) Let me know if your party will attend the two group meals.  The total cost for both meals is $31.00 per person.  (Again, send no money now.  You can pay during the reunion via cash or check.)

4) When you contact me, please provide your name(s), mailing address, e-mail address phone number so I can contact you if need be.  In general, I’ll probably use e-mail or blog (see below) from this point on to pass any further information.

You can provide your input on in one of several ways:

            a)  The best way is to e-mail kozareunion2011@gmail.com and provide your information.  Side note: when you send your e-mail, please attach a few of your favorite Koza pictures (If you have hard-copy pictures, you’ll need to scan them to your computer of course).  I plan to have a running slide presentation at the reunion with all the pics!

OR…

            b)  Post your information on the Koza Baptist Church Reunion Blog!   (But you already know this because you are viewing the blog now!)  But if you want to write down or save the blog site, the address is  http://kozareunion2011.blogspot.com/.  Provide your information by posting a comment on the blog using the "comment" button (its kinda small, so look hard), or start a new post.   Once done, submit it, and your entry will be posted on the blog.  Please bear in mind that your entry will be seen by anyone who visits the blog.   (Side Note: Even if you don’t use the blog to provide your information, please use it as a forum for up-to-date information about the reunion, and to communicate with other Koza-ites.  Should be a fun forum to stay communicated with the Koza community!)

OR…

            c)  This is the “old-fashioned” option, but just as effective.  You can write to the following address to send your information (address will be valid through 30 June 2011):

                        Koza Reunion 2011

                        848 Livingston Road Suite 101, PMB 49
                        Crossville, TN 38555

I guess that’s it for now.  If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me, use the blog, or send a letter.   Sharon and I truly hope you’ll plan to attend.  Take care, and may God bless you.

In Him,

Mark Thompson
